Github Codespaces is a new way of working in VS Code directly from Github. Make changes, collaborate and save files to your Github repo as you go. No need to download anything or create a new folder on your computer. You can even run codespaces in your browser.

Just open a repository and start coding! It’s that simple!

GitHub Codespaces: VS Code in the Cloud

GitHub Codespaces: VS Code in the Cloud is a web-based version of VS Code that allows you to code from anywhere. You can also access Git repositories from there, and works with GitHub, Azure Repos, and other Git providers. It is only available in a preview mode now.

It offers an online IDE for writing and running Python and JavaScript code. It uses repl.it as the backend for your code, which runs the code in Docker containers (you can see them in the “Go to repl” menu).

It offers a neat collaborative coding feature where you can invite others to join your coding session by sharing a public link. You can also create private sessions which are accessible only with a secret link.

So you want to learn to code. You have a passion for tech, and you have the drive to teach yourself something new. But where do you start?

We are all looking for something new to learn and explore, especially during times of crisis. I’m sure many of us are wondering “Should I learn to code?” You may be asking yourself, “How do I start?”, or even “Where can I learn to code for free?”.

If you’re looking for a way to get started learning to code, then you’ve come to the right place! Below is my list of the best free online code schools on the Internet today. These sites will help you learn how to program from scratch, or brush up on your skills. They will teach you web development, software development and more.

This list is not in any order of preference. Whenever possible, I have included my personal recommendations based on what I’ve learned from each site.

To help you learn how to code, I’ve listed some of the best and most popular online coding resources out there. You’ll find everything from totally free code schools to paid-for programs that include video lessons and other learning materials.

I’ve listed these resources in no particular order — they are all worth checking out and some may be better suited for your needs than others. So take a look around and choose the one that will work best for you.

Free Code Camp is a community of people that enjoy helping others learn to code. It works on an open source model, meaning that anybody can contribute their own projects and challenges to help teach others. You can start off with the basic HTML and CSS courses before moving on to JavaScript, Databases and Node.js.
