What is Code 2?
Code 2 is a web service that provides you with great IDs and data. The IDs are unique and random, which means that they aren’t sequential. They also return data, such as names or other information, so it is unique and looks real.
How do I use Code 2?
First, you need to create an account with us so that you can get access to the ID generator. You can find ways to create an account in the menu of our site. Once you have created an account and logged in you will automatically be directed to the ID generator page. Here you can generate up to 100 random IDs every 24 hours. We make sure that the IDs are random and not sequential, so there should be no problems when using them for websites or forums where sequential numbers are not allowed. If you don’t know how to use our service yet then please feel free to browse through our FAQ section for more information about how things work here at Code 2.
Many of the technical tools we use at Code 2 are open source, and these tools are frequently used by other companies. But the way we use them is somewhat unique, and it’s possible that the way we do things can be useful for others.
This document is intended for both readers who want to understand how we operate our infrastructure, and also for developers who want to contribute changes to our systems.
At Code 2, we are building a number of services to help people exchange data on the Web. One of these services is called Code 2 Data, which provides users with a JSON API endpoint at code2.com/data that returns information about any URL or IP address you query it with.
